Gah! a hideous spelling mistake! (and it took me a while to find it too) I meant "combing" - or the breaking up of the histogram. I have just recently learnt of a way you can avoid this in jpgs too; put up the colours to something really high say 16 bit. Then you'll find you histogram much more flexible, without breaking up. ok:D
